Car Crashes at Nuclear Weapons Plant

 Apparently a car crashed after running through a checkpoint at the Oak Ridge facility in Tennessee, the guards said the man appeared to be impaired some way before the accident. After the crash the man ran away and upon examining the car it was found to be hot wired, no explosives or weapons were found inside. I have been by this plant many times and I would say the guy was either drunk or crazy, but tensions are so high when one reads a story such as this it makes us take notice and I wish they had caught the guy so as to question his motives and had gotten to the bottom of this.

Food in botulism recall still being sold nationwide

Thats right boys and girls the food with possible poison bacteria in it is still being sold right here in America, according to this article coming out of Oakland the food is still showing up from Florida to Alaska. According to the FDA the contamination was a result of the food not being cooked long enough and apparently the longer this stuff stays in the can the worse it gets. You can read about the recall and the list over at Castleberry’s web page via the link, I am sure that a lot of people are aware of the recall and that ‘every’ store should have the products in question removed from their shelves. Apparently a parent company of Castleberry’s, Bumble Bee Foods LLC of San Diego will be investigated by two committees of Congress. Now Bumble Bee I am more familiar with than Castleberry’s because that is the kind of Tuna fish I ate, but I have eat the Castleberry’s chili before and the beef stew. Seems kind of odd all this could have occurred due to the product not being cooked enough, seems even more odd that this is still on the shelves of our stores after the recall.

Some firefox goodies

A lot of you probably already know this but for those of you who hate all this animation flash getting in the way of your web surfing try out this little firefox extension, it is called Flashblock and you can download it and try it for yourself. It has a white list also where if you want to view the flash on web pages, but something good also that I have noticed since I have been surfing with it is that during web page rendering it leaves a little “f” button on the flash and you simply click it and view it, that is if you want to. Another little goodies is Adblock Plus, which will block those unwanted and irritating ads you run into. So you can get rid of the flash and the ads sounds good to me and you can also add this little hiding helper called Adblock Plus: Element hiding helper, this little jewel helps you create element hiding rules easier. Hope this helps your browsing be a little more enjoyable by getting rid of all that flash and useless ads, try them out.

Update; let me make a quick update on flashblock instead of typing the full web address just begin after (http://) and it will add it to the white list,,so you would go to tools on your browser then–>add-ons–>and choose the options on your flashblock and add to your white list if you desire.

Who is helping shape our young people?

 This article states that Lohan ‘may’ get 180 days in jail but more than likely she will have to return to rehab, darn it. All of these types use rehab basically as a revolving door, it seems that a big part of celebrities are either on dope or drunks, but the sad part is that a lot of our younger generation look up to these and generally try and be like them in the way they dress or the way they act. Having come to this point we can see that a lot of these have actually a negative effect on our children and all parents are to do is try to explain in some way why all the bigger than life heroes of our children are dope addicts and drunks, this is a harsh statement but it is true in many ways, whether you are talking about Lohan, Nolte Nolte  drifting in and out of consciousness, or Hilton to name a  few, it is of little wonder what kind of message this is sending to our young people in America today. And still we wonder what is becoming of society as we know it, yet we need only to look around and see who is helping shape our young generation.

Can cholesterol go too low?

In America we worry quite a lot about our cholesterol level and I myself worry over it also, but this study might make us think how low it should go. What is also to bear in mind is that they really don’t know whether the statin drugs could be linked to a cancer risk themselves. However that could be a possibility that they could be a risk, so getting your cholesterol down very low could in fact increase your risk to develop cancer. this is very good to know I myself have very high cholesterol and have battled it for many years, but anymore just about everything that is found to help you in some way could damage you in other ways, also of note in this study is that in addition to the cancer risk those with very low cholesterol could be more prone to develop Parkinson’s disease. I will leave you with this quote from the article;

“Something is going to get us. If we don’t die of heart disease, then we die of cancer or Alzheimer’s. We don’t want people to stop something that we know has benefits.”
