Children of Haiti

I was scanning the FTA channels last night and I came across an interview on SkyAngel network they were interviewing Susie Krabacher, she was a former playmate who turned her life around by giving her heart to Jesus Christ. Susie told of her life of sexual abuse as a child and later becoming a playmate for 10 years, that is until she gave her heart and life to Jesus and only then did she start to deal with her problems which had haunted her since she was a child.

Susie now works with the children of Haiti, the children who mostly have deformities or are mentally slow. What made me think was that in Haiti people look on these children as their parents were evil or the children must be evil, what they do a lot of times is just forget about these kids or turn them into the streets to fend for themselves. She told horror stories of finding children in pig-pens, sleeping beside garbage and what is sad is the people think either the kids or their parents are evil or cursed. Sounds awful but this is the short of it.

Susie has written a book entitled Angels of A Lower Flight and it contains her experiences with these children and the bad conditions for them to endure just because they are a little different, 100% of the proceeds from the book go to help the children. In Susie’s own childhood being plagued by child abuse and later her giving her heart to Jesus, she ends up helping so many children and at the end of the interview, it made me think just how many lives of children that were just literally thrown away that Susie ended up helping and saving and it also made me realize just what a difference we all could make by following Jesus and walk in the way he wants us to go.

Thank you Susie for your work and caring for the children of Haiti.

There is a link at the bottom of this article to Haiti Children and remember the proceeds of the book go 100% to the children.

I’m glad you gave the site or link here floyd. What a sad story about those kids and how Jesus has a plan to render help through Susie.

I’m thinking of re-posting this at Let’s talk God, let me know if that’s OK with you.

Larry that is perfectly o.k with me, I was just scanning the band and ran into this interview, I am not sure if it was recent I think it was.

I liked the story and Susie seemed to be making such a difference in the lives of these children, the ones that without her in-put would have been left to die on the streets and in garbage dumps and pig-pens.

It was one of the most absolutely heart-breaking interviews I had seen in a while, I hope she sells a lot of those books and am glad that 100% of the proceeds go to these neglected children.

God has made such a difference in her life to have overcome sexual abuse herself and to lending her life to Jesus and helping the less fortunate than us is truly an inspiration to me.

Hi Floyd, I’ll run it after thanksgiving.

I came by to say Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and remember to be safe!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Larry, thanks for dropping by.

  5. I agree – Susie’s story is very compelling and speaks volumes about the real possibilities. I had the chance to interview her and learn more about what she’s doing in Haiti. To read more, check it out at http://caglepost.com/column/Martha+Randolph+Carr/5228/Haiti+Needs+Best+Friends.html
